Seal of the Putlecow/Potilkow/Pittelkau/Pettelkau Families

At two documents from the year 1396 (Main State Archive Schwerin) are seals of our Familie(n).

The intact seal (seal 1) is at a document of 06.01.1396. This document is concerned with the sales of a lease. Tiderich Putlecowe signed and sealed this document as a witness. Over the inscription seal is in the copy of the document in the Mecklenburgian document book (No. 12887) the following description:

The names in the transcription - Tyderici Pittelcov - is thus already fixed at this time as surnames in the partial still today applied way of writing.
